A TRUE FIND!
Chateau Theulet Monbazillac 1996 - A mature Sauternes-like dessert wine from Monbazillac in southwest France. Kissed by botrytis cinerea, this golden nectar is a blend of Sauvignon Blanc, Sémillon and Muscadelle, and fully mature at 10 years of age. The dessert wines of Monbazillac were considered the equal of most Sauternes in the 19th century. Forgotten by many today, they represent great values. We recently discovered a cache priced at a fraction of what a comparable Sauternes would cost. A heavenly match with bleu cheese, foie gras, and most non-chocolate desserts.

The "Wine Spectator" gives the Piedmont reds of 2001 a rating of 92-96! Barolo, produced from 100% Nebbiolo is Piedmont's Greatest red. Rarely seen for less than $40.00, Barolo's are robust, age worthy wines. A great match for game, full-flavored cheese, red meats, or pasta with truffles. Morando Barolo is enjoyable now (let it breath for an hour), but will be even better with further age. A rare opportunity to taste this Piedmont legend at an amazingly low price!
